About the Author:

Charles W. Dunmore is professor emeritus at New York University, serving for some time as chairman of the Classics Department. He was a consulting editor on Latin and Greek etymology for the World Book Encyclopedia and is the co-author, with Rita M. Fleischer, of Studies in Etymology, also available from Focus.
